Social Impact

Providing clean and safe drinking water to everyone is a major challenge in a world with a huge water shortage and a fast growing world population and industrialization.

Establishing profitable water companies in an arrangement of a Cluster Operation has several contributions to local economies and communities:

Direct:

• Providing safe and clean drinking water for at least 150,000 people
• Safe drinking water for the Bottom of the Pyramid (for an affordable price)
• Creating local jobs, some 250 for a full profitable Cluster Operation
• Jobs for marginalized people, like children from orphanages
• Training  local employees in general business management, engineering, marketing and sales
• Donating drinking water to socially relevant organizations, like children hospitals, organisations for physical disabled people, and so on
• Usage of flush water for (drip)irrigation for (urban)agriculture, fish farming, etc.

Indirect:

• Setting up new community based businesses, like waste plastic collection for PET recycling,  waste paper collection, tire recycling and so on.
• Improving communities with several community projects:
  -      Establishing sanitation facilities (toilets, showers, washing bowls)
  -      Performing training hygiene for school children and parents
  -      Expansion of MPI Academy to local vocational schools
  -      Stimulating entrepreneurship
